Titan(Saturn Moon)

 

            As we knew, eight planets are in our solar system, where Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun & the second largest planet in our solar system. Saturn has 82 known moons. the titan is the largest moon of Saturn, where Saturn has some largest moon eg: titan, Rhea  &  many od others moons are small 34 are less than 10km in diameter & another 14 between 10 & 15 km in diameter.

            Titan is the largest moon of Saturn, it is also the 2nd largest satellite in our solar system. Titan is the only satellite in our solar system with a major atmosphere, in which complex organic chemistry is occurring. it is the only Sattelite with hydrocarbon leaked. Titan is the only moon known to have a dense atmosphere where clear evidence of stable bodies of surface, liquid has been found.

            Titan is one of the seventh gravitationally rounded moons in orbit around Saturn as well as the second most distinct from Saturn, by considering diameter titan two times larger than earth moons. it is 80% massive than the earth's moon.

                Is the second-largest moon in our solar system, after Jupiter's moon Ganymede. it is larger than planet mercury but only 40% massive than it. titan is discovered in 1655 by the Dutch astronomer Christiaan Huygens.

            Titan was the first known moon of Saturn & the sixth planetary satellite. Titan orbits Saturn at 20 Saturn radii. from titan surface, subtends and are of 5.09 degree, where is visible through the moon's thick atmosphere, would appear 11.4 times larger in the sky than the moon from earth. 

            Titan is primary composed of ice & rocky material, which is likely differentiated into a  rocky core surrounded by various layers of ice, including a crust of ice & a sub-surface layer of ammonia-rich, liquid water. the atmosphere of Titan is largely nitrogen miner components lead to the formation of methane & ethane clouds & heavy organonitrogen haze. the climate including wind & rain creates surface features similar to those of earth.

Titan orbits Saturn ones every 15 days 22 hrs. like earth moon and many of the satellite of the giant planet, its rotational period or its day is identical to its orbital period, titan is tidally locked in synchronous rotation with Saturn, & permanently shows one phase to the planet.longitudes on titan are measured WESTWARD, staring from the meridian passing through this point. its orbital eccentricity is 0.0288, and the orbital plane is inclined 0.348 degrees relative to the Saturnian equators. viewed from earth, titan reaches an angular distance of about 20 Saturn radii(just over 1200000 Km or 750000 Miles)from Saturn & subtends or discs 0.8 arc/seconds in diameter.
